STING

All resident Richland School District students in grades K-8 are eligible, including students who are enrolled in private schools or are homeschooled. Non-resident students open-enrolled into the Richland School District are also eligible. Students in grades K-2 will attend the RCPS program, and students in 3-8 will attend the RCIS program. 7th and 8th-grade students will be bussed from RCHS to RCIS after school.

Currently, no; STING is open to grades 5K-8. If we do not reach our funded participation rates and are able to accommodate additional grade levels, we will work toward opening the program to additional students. While we hope to include EC/4K students if there is space, the state requires different staffing ratios and snack requirements for students below 5K, so adding these students creates a significant additional staffing and administrative burden on the program.

Yes, all RSD residents enrolled in a school within the Richland School District are eligible, including private school students. Students open-enrolled out of RSD into another district are not eligible.

This grant is provided by Federal funding and administered by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction. The Richland School District Administration submitted over 60 pages of detailed grant responses to enter the competitive grant process in February of 2023.
