Welcome to the Richland Center Primary School!
I am honored and proud to be the Principal at Richland Center Primary School! It is an exciting time to be in education as our world is rapidly transforming. As educators, we are constantly staying on our toes to meet the needs of our students today and prepare them for their future ahead.
At RCPS, we teach, guide, and nurture students enrolled in Early Childhood to 2nd Grade. Our students are taught by talented, caring teachers and staff members. We provide academic and behavior support programs using RtI (Response to Intervention), as well as, Title I with academic support in Reading and Math. Our Special Education team guides students based on their IEP needs, including Speech and Language. All of our students receive weekly instruction in Music, Physical Education, Art, and Library and bi-monthly Guidance.
Our PBIS has the focus of "Be Respectful. Be Responsible. Be Safe. Be a Friend." This is evident in the school's expectations rolled out at the beginning of the year, the review of these expectations throughout the year and demonstrated by our students. We strive to have each child feel safe at school so they are able to learn and have fun!
Our facility features a full-size gym, a library with a story pit, and a computer lab. Every classroom is equipped with an Interactive Flat Panel from SMART and we provide 1:1 devices (iPad) for our 5k through 2nd grade students. Our beautiful outdoor area is an enclosed large green space with a gazebo and raised garden beds, plus a picturesque nature area and trail.
